I’m Stian, and I am first and foremost a father, as well as a recreational cross-country skier, software developer, and habitual tinkerer based in Norway. Today, I develop C++ software for command-and-control systems in the maritime defence industry.
As a side quest, I’m also pursuing a master’s degree in neuroscience. That interest began with a long trip down the rabbit hole of my own hip and back problems.

Software and tinkering
Most of my personal software projects start with scratching my own itch. I build small tools, scripts, and workflows that remove friction from my day or help me use my computer more efficiently.

Film and visual work
Before software became my main profession, I spent several years working as a freelance videographer and content producer.
My best-known directing credit is the music video for ARY’s Childhood Dreams. By 2026, the song had accumulated around 17 million streams on Spotify. I have also made aftermovies for established festivals and social media content that was used by Jaguar.
My YouTube channel is mostly hobby projects, with a few pieces from my professional work mixed in. I think of it as a creative archive rather than a polished showreel.
Music
Many years ago, I also made electronic music. Some of it still lives on SoundCloud. I hope to one day get the time to jump back into creating some beats.
I like making things. Whether it is software, film, music, or a better way to do something, I tend to learn by following a problem until I have built an answer to it.
